The Energy Conservation Act 2001 provides for the efficient use of energy and its conservation.
The Act provides for the formation of a Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), the nodal agency for developing policy and strategies in energy conservation, and also empowers the Central Government to facilitate the enforcement and efficient use of energy and its conservation.
